CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY

Hi guys and gals!
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret... you guys promise you wont tell?
I hated life until this year. I was so unhappy and I couldn't figure out why. I had everything you could dream of. I had a family who loved me. I had friends. I had money. I traveled all the time. My parents surprised me with my dream car. I had all of that and more, but yet, I still wasn't happy. Why is that? YOU decide when you're happy, not the people around you or the things around you. This march my world took a turn. I made the decision to be happy. You see, this march my grandma fell and broke her leg the day I got back from my vacay. My grandparents own a goat ranch. Many of you know that when you have a ranch, march is prime "kidding" season. We had 200 babies on the ground. They were depending on my grandma to bottle feed them. She cant do that with a broken foot. Therefore, that leaves yours truly to take care of the babies. I spent 7 hours at the farm, 3 babysitting and 6 doing school. This was such a stressful time for me. I was angry that I had to do stuff I don't care to do for 16 hours a day. I was angry that I didn't get to see friends. I was overall just angry that I HAD to spend the next 3 months doing that. I was so unhappy and stressed. I knew something different had to be done. I made a commitment, I couldn't get out of it. I knew I needed to be happy. I just didn't know how, so I did what all teens do. I went to pinteret and I looked up some positive quotes. They all had the basic point of YOU decide when you're happy. All this time I was searching for happiness.
Here are my top 5 tips to being happy

1. Affirmations.
I swear I'm not crazy, ok?
every morning when you wake up simply say "I am happy!"
You will eventually say it so many times you start believing it.

2. Do something that makes you happy.
Even on days you have what feels like no time at all, find time [you'll thank me later].
Here's some good some things I like to do... drink coffee on the porch for a few minutes. Read a chapter of personal development or whatever type of books you like. You could even journal.

3. Write down 5 things that you are grateful for.
I have a separate notebook for this and once a day I [try] to write down what I'm grateful for.
it automatically puts a smile on my face

4. Cleaning
Most people don't find cleaning a "joyful" thing to do. Cleaning is my favorite way to decompress.
Nothings better than a clean room. Seriously, I challenge you to go set a timer for 15 minutes and clean your little heart away. Not only will you have a clean house, but you'll be in a much better mood.

5. Yoga
Hi, my names Reese and I'm a yoga addict.....
For reals tho, who doesn't love yoga? Yoga is so much more than stretching, its about clearing/calming your mind. I always feel so much better after yoga, even if its only 10 minutes. If you don't know where to start, go to youtube. They have countless instructional videos. Or you could even go to a yoga studio, if you live near one.

I hope after todays blog you guys decide to be HAPPY!!! Its the best decision I've ever made. Life is so much better with happiness.

Much love, Reese

My Trip To Gaveston, Texas 2018

Hi guys!
I'm going to show you guys my tip to Texas. We went in May, so it was our first girls trip of the summer. My mom, my little sis and I went to go visit our family friend, Jenny! We love her to death!!!

We started our trip on a Saturday afternoon. We went to Jenny's house, dropped everything off and headed to Top Golf. That was my sister and I's first time playing golf. We sucked!
I accidently hit the ball behind me and hit the glass wall...I know, so embarrassing.

I'm clearly a professional...….

The next day we went to Kemah Boardwalk.
fun fact about Reese... I'd never ridden a roller coaster until that day.
I LOVED it!! If you're ever in that area, definitely go to Kemah.

While we were at Kemah, we fed the stingrays. Again, such a lovely time! you could spend hours in there "petting" the stingrays.

Did you really go to Texas if you didn't go to "Buc-ee's"?  We had to stop when we saw one.
I could spend days shopping and eating in their.

BEACH!!!!
The beach is legit my favorite place on earth. Nothing makes me happier than laying in the sun or jumping waves.
P.S. never wear new sunglasses in the ocean.... I lost my brand new glasses.

Our final stop was a place named "Floyds". It's shaped like a boat... its such a cool building,
I didn't even realize this, but I actually like fish. I ordered blackened catfish. My aunt Jenny ordered  3 pounds of crawfish. As you can tell my face; I was scared to try them, but boy am I glad I did. It's my new favorite food and I cant wait until crawfish season!!!!

That wraps up my short but amazing trip to Texas. I already can't wait for next years trip and crawfish to come back into season.

I'm Back!!!!

Hey guys!

Long time no blog. Life has been crazy lately. It has also been so amazing! I honestly couldn't be any happier with life.

Here is an update. I quit my terrible job at our local hotel. I nannied all summer long for 4 little boys. I've been consistently working out for the past 9 weeks. I got myself a coach and I couldn't love her any more. She's seriously so perfect. I started my junior year of high school last week. I'm turning 16 in 71 days. My car has been in the shop for the past 3 weeks. I redid my room. I went out of the country. I attempted minimalism, now that's a long story. We started attending a different church. Moral of that story is LIFE IS GOOD.

I will be writing more now that my life is together. I plan on writing post about trips we've taken, fashion post and maybe even some workout post.

I cant wait to grow my blog and put tons of effort into it. I hope you guys stick and around and follow my journey with me.

Much love, Reese

Sorry for such a short blog! I felt like I had some explaining to do. Thanks for reading, I appreciate it.

A day in my life

Hey guys, welcome to a new blog! we are on day 5 of 7! How crazy!!!!! I don't know how I've managed to keep up... I'm going to tell you a little about my yesterday.

I woke up at 8:00 to my little brother knocking on my door. I'm normally awake at 5 am, so it was nice to sleep in! To make thing even better, I woke up to the smell of bacon! I walked down stairs ot find that my mom had made and egg scramble. I normally don't eat egg, I tend to get nauseous. I decided to eat them anyway. Well, that was a bad idea..... within 5 bites I felt soooooo sick. I was convinced I was going to die. I think its safe to say I have a sensitivity to eggs. I laid on the coach for a while watching my siblings do school. My mom then decided that the recycling needed taken to the place. I had to drive my brothers down town to do that. Rush hour traffic is no joke, you know, just incase you were wondering. when I got home it was around 11am. since I didn't feel good I took a bath. As my little brother says, "baths help everything'. around 12:00pm I got ready for meetings. I had to look professional. I had a meeting at 1,2 and 3. They were great and we got lots of things discussed, so that was good. I came home and got my stuff ready for work. I work form 4pm -9pm. That's when I do my school and try to write my blog post. When I got to work I talked to my co-worker, Holly, for about 15 minutes. I then got into work. Some towels needed done and some school needed done. My sister came in around 7:30 with my dinner and we worked on Spanish homework. We both went home at 9:00. I got my stuff ready for in the morning and got ready for bed. I went to bed and that was my day. I know, it was pretty lame.
peace out! -Reese

Conforming to this world

Hey guys welcome to todays blog! Its day 4 of 7!! I'm going to do a hands on bible lesson. Now, keep in mind I'm not a pastor or anything like that. Lets get started.

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Now, I want you guys to get a piece of paper and write down that verse and 3 things the world does that isn't Christ like.
For an example I'm going to type 3 things out...
1. Bad language 2. lying  3. being bitter
Now, I want you guys to think about those 3 things. Are you guilty of doing them? Should you be doing them?  If you are doing them, what is something you could do to change your habits?

The bible states you should not "conform to the world". Are you conforming?  I sure hope not.
Remember to discern the will of God, do what is good,  and be Christ like and not worldly.                                      prayer time!
Dear God,
please be with us today and help us not to conform. Help us to be as much like you as possible. Help us to speak love to others and for people to notice that we are Christ like when we are in public. Help us to be good examples. Thank you for allowing us freedom to share your word and giving us life so we can share your word. Thank you so much for dying on the cross for our sins, so we can have eternal life. Jesus name, amen!
